Gen Z were born into a tech driven world where the internet and smart devices are everpresent. The ‘tiktok generation’, they are constantly creatively pushing the boundaries of content creation. ‘Next Gen’ is an Instagram series established in 2020 for Squarespace, featuring Gen Z Squarespace customers' creative pursuits and entrepreneurial spirit.

For the first edition of this series, Squarespace partnered with Nashville artist Love You Later and Sophia Lauer to shoot a music video on iPhone. As young artists, they’re part of a new generation of creatives who are working together to bring their visionary ideas to life. We gave the duo creative license to concept and produce the video with minimal production or expensive equipment. The outcome produced a euphoric acoustic rendition of Love You Later’s song ‘Emily’.

The making of the video was documented and produced by Squarespace Brand Design team as a means to capture the creative process.
